Women's Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Since 1982, it has led the way in developing and coordinating effective responses to domestic abuse, grounded in the experiences of survivors.
It is a federation of 185 frontline services supporting women and children through some of the most challenging times in their lives. Using its national voice, Women’s Aid campaigns for systemic change and influences policy, while delivering services to some of the most marginalised and vulnerable groups. The organisation produces robust research and reports—underpinned by the largest national dataset on domestic abuse—to inform its campaigning and lobbying work.
Founded on the struggle against patriarchy, sexism, and domestic violence—and rooted in the women’s movement of the 1970s and 1980s—Women’s Aid continues to take an intersectional feminist approach to ending violence against women and girls. It works with and for women and children, listening to them, amplifying their voices, and placing their needs at the heart of its mission.
